Hip Hop School Program

The History of Hip Hop is an innovative, hands-on educational program serving both public and private schools across North Dakota and the Upper Midwest. Designed to ignite creativity and engagement, our program uses the rich cultural legacy of hip hop to teach students through music, movement, and art. Students explore the four foundational elements of hip hop—Deejaying, Breakdancing, Rapping, and Graffiti Art—through interactive lessons led by experienced professionals. Whether it’s learning a dance routine from a professional breakdancer, writing original raps, coloring their own murals, or mixing beats with a live DJ, students are immersed in an unforgettable learning experience that connects artistic expression with historical context.

Our high school curriculum takes it a step further by emphasizing entrepreneurship and real-world application. Students are introduced to creative career paths within hip hop culture—such as deejaying, dance instruction, poetry, and visual arts—and are guided on how to build a business around their talents. We even walk them through the process of registering an LLC in the state of North Dakota. To date, we’ve reached over 1,000 students through our dynamic school assemblies and workshops, visiting schools like Bennett Elementary, Centennial Elementary, Explorer Academy, Fargo South High School, Cannon Ball Elementary on the Standing Rock Reservation, North Shore Plaza in Plaza, ND, and the Boys and Girls Ranch in Minot. The History of Hip Hop is more than a program—it’s a movement empowering youth through education, creativity, and culture.
